United Nations day and Digimind

Blogpost Cover UNGC (2)

Digimind, a global social media monitoring and competitive intelligence leader, is dedicated to integrating the UN Global Compact program and its guiding principles into the company's strategy, culture, and day-to-day operations. We also intend to work together on projects that advance the UN's larger development objectives, including the Sustainable Development Goals. Digimind will be transparent with our stakeholders and the broader public about this commitment.

The United Nations Global Compact is a strategic program that assists multinational corporations that are dedicated to ethical business practices in the areas of labour, the environment, anti-corruption, and human rights. The UN Global Compact is an appeal to businesses to align their policies and practices with 10 universal principles relating to labour, the environment, human rights, and anti-corruption, as well as to take steps to advance societal objectives and the realization of the SDGs.

What has Digimind done?

  • CSR team-building initiatives

To further integrate the United Nations’ 10 principles, initiatives were put in place, such as Digiminders participating in the Climate Fresk, a collaborative and engaging way to learn more about the climate system and the consequences of its disruption, and a Diversity lunch to celebrate cultural diversity in the workplace. Indeed, Digimind has many employees from all over the world, so everyone brings a dish from their country or region to be shared with the office. All employees learned more about their colleagues and got together after being apart for the summer holidays.

  • CSR third-party initiatives

Digimind committed, along with the 4,100 signatories of the Diversity Charter, to fight against discrimination and to promote diversity within the company. Diversity is important for our company in terms of economic and social performance. Thus, by placing it at the heart of our strategy, it becomes an advantage whose impact is felt in particular on our creativity and competitiveness.

Additionally, Digimind has received a Silver certification from EcoVadis for our corporate sustainability performance through developing solutions for a sustainable future, Digimind is demonstrating its dedication to sustainability. Offering a wide range of non-financial management systems covered, the EcoVadis Rating also includes implications on the environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

  • CSR-related initiatives

Since April 2021, eleven enthusiastic Digiminders, from different offices worldwide, are committed to working on concrete actions to improve the CSR strategy of the company. Each quarter, the CSR Advocates write an article on a CSR initiative carried out locally with the teams or write an article on a subject that affects them to raise awareness among employees.

As part of its CSR commitment, Digimind has decided to launch the digimind.org program on June 24, 2022, in order to expand this initiative to more nonprofits and to higher education. Charities and higher education institutions have been able to access the company's tools and services on a preferential basis through the digimind.org website.

During September, for The European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW), Digimind monitored social channels with its social media listening tool, DS, in order to see the most discussed topics throughout this event. With this tool, one can see the directions of the initiatives undertaken through the different 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Enabling you to identify the best practices for your brand and demonstrating a genuine commitment and pledge to action.

Additionally, Digimind offers career growth possibilities that can revitalize Digiminders and change the way they view their jobs. Programs for holistic training and development value diversity and promote learning based on personal preferences and life experiences. Enhancing cooperation and fostering a more inclusive and cohesive team can be accomplished by encouraging knowledge of the cultures and beliefs of other employees.

United Nations

The United Nations is an international organization founded in 1945. As World War II was about to end in 1945, nations were in ruins, and the world wanted peace. Representatives of 50 countries gathered at the United Nations Conference on International Organization in San Francisco, California from 25 April to 26 June 1945. For the next two months, they proceeded to draft and then sign the UN Charter, which created a new international organization, the United Nations, which, it was hoped, would prevent another world war like the one they had just lived through.

Currently made up of 193 Member States, the UN and its work are guided by the purposes and principles contained in its founding Charter.

The UN has evolved over the years to keep pace with a rapidly changing world. But one thing has stayed the same: it remains the one place on Earth where all the world’s nations can gather together, discuss common problems, and find shared solutions that benefit all of humanity.

On October 24, the United Nations celebrates the anniversary of the day the UN Charter went into effect in 1945. For the occasion, Digimind is a UN Global Compact participant, who wants to celebrate the UN's accomplishments and concentrate on the organization's mission to bring about a better world for all people.

The annual celebration of UN Day provides a chance to advance our shared goals and uphold the objectives and tenets of the UN Charter that have governed us for the past 76 years.

A concert is typically organized to commemorate UN Day in the General Assembly Hall of the Organization at its headquarters in New York. The 2022 Concert is a plea to increase worldwide collaboration in the interest of nations and peoples for a more peaceful and prosperous future for all as the world slowly begins to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
