About Greenpeace

Greenpeace, an international, environmental organisation, was founded in Canada in 1971 by two American environmental activists. Since its inception, Greenpeace has acted on land and at sea, according to the principles of non-violence to protect the environment and promote peace.

The organisation states that its goal is to “ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity”, thus campaigning on worldwide issues such as climate change, growing inequality, social injustice, migration, armed conflict, deforestation, overfishing, genetic engineering, commercial whaling, etc.

Greenpeace is known for its direct actions and has been described as one of the most visible environmental organisations in the world. This NGO has raised environmental issues to public knowledge and influenced both the private and public sector.

Greenpeace is present in 55 countries, on all continents and oceans, with 28 national and regional offices and three ships. It has over three million members and over 36,000 volunteers worldwide. The organisation places citizen power at the heart of their campaigns by giving resonance to the work of all those who share their vision, their hopes, and their conviction that we need profound transformations in our societies.

My name is Emma Nauleau-Laplanche, I am an intern of CSR practices at Digimind. I aspire to keep working and progress in the CSR and sustainability sectors. What inspired me to work in this field was when I was in in South America with The Traveling School, a school based on experimental learning, which made me thing about my impact on the world. Since then, I have enjoyed seeing new things and did a bachelor in environmental sciences in Singapore and a Master in Sustainability Management in Politecnico di Milano.
