The Webpages module provides a means of detecting any new item that appears in the Internet pages or any modification that is made.
This module has many applications. Here are a few examples:
- Monitoring the press releases of your competitors
- Monitoring any news released by institutions or associations that impacts your profession
- Monitoring any news released in the trade press that is relevant to your sector
- Etc…
Functions offered by the Webpages module
Monitoring
Pages to be monitored can be added either via a form in which the user copies/pastes addresses from his Internet browser or by importing an existing bookmark.
Warning message parameters
The user can adjust the warning message parameters for each page so as not to receive unwanted warning messages. More specifically, he can choose to receive a warning message if:
- A single modification is made to a page (contents of the text modified)
- Modification of over x % of the contents of the page or over X phrases within the page.
- Modification of the page AND appearance of a key word, or response to a Boolean query
- Modification to images only
- Modification to links only.
These parameters enable the user, for example, to avoid receiving a warning when just the date changes or when pages, by nature, change every day (using the key-word parameter).
Frequency
The pages are monitored once a day. A more regular surveillance frequency, however, (every 2 hours for example) can be introduced as an option (please contact us).
Statistics
A histogram indicates the number of modifications detected within a page over an adjustable period i.e. between 12 months (month by month) and 30 days (day by day).
Archives
A view of the archives enables all the results to be accessed by detection date. This means that any event occurring during your absence from the office or during your holidays can easily be retrieved. The last 14 versions of each page are stored for future access in the archives.
Push
An E-mail warning system can be activated in order to receive surveillance results each morning. For each warning, the e-mail supplies the contents of new items that have appeared in the pages.
