The InvisibleWeb module offers the facility of automatically monitoring the new results generated by search engines. It consequently gives access to thousands of documents only present in data bases. (e.g.: the European Commission’s data bases, Library of Congress databases).
This module has many applications. Here are a few examples:
- Detecting the appearance of new reference web sites concerning your sector
- Monitoring the appearance of new press articles concerning your competitors
- Detecting new tenders or new patents in the data bases
- Identifying new regulations from institutional data bases (Europe, France, US etc…)
- Etc…
Functions of the InvisibleWeb agent
Filtering
This module offers a means of detecting any new results generated by a search engine, on the basis of a query consisting of key words and Boolean operators. The search engines can be general-interest, or specific to certain Internet sites, consequently querying data bases that are not reached by general search engines (e.g.: the European Commission’s data base).
The Boolean operators accepted for these queries are AND, OR, NOT, inverted commas and brackets. You only have to learn one operating language as the operators are automatically translated and converted into the language of the underlying search engines, according to their possibilities.
Search engines queried
Several dozen search engines are supplied with the standard version of the module (list available on request). They break down into the following categories: – Web: General-interest web search engines (yahoo, altavista, lycos etc…) – News (sources such as Le Monde, L’expansion, yahoo news etc… ) – Institutions: Reference institutional sites (European Commission, governments etc) – Business: Sources dedicated to the life of businesses (Les echos, PR Newswire etc…). The French-language and English-language search engines are divided into separate categories.
Customisation
In order to achieve pinpointed results with regard to your business, the Invisible Web module can be customised to suit your centres of interest. Search engines relating to professional sites can be added. An independent pricing system is used for the addition of specialist engines.
Frequency
The requests are posted and updated once a week.
